I was duped + Features

I received the Photoshop CS2 in the mail FINALLY and like a kid on Christmas ripped open the package. Everything looked to be as desribed with everything being shrink wrapped. I popped the disk into my computer, installed the program, typed in the serial number from the back of the case, and clicked HELP> Activate. Nothing. Clicked HELP>Activate again. Nothing. *grumble* Tried calling the phone activation line, gave them my serial number. "I'm sorry that serial number is not in our database." At that point I wanted to just cry.  I contacted the Ebay Help line because I had already left feedback for this member and wanted to know if I could still file a dispute if I needed. They told me I could, but should try communicating with him first. Already done. As soon as the Adobe rep told me it was faked and not legit I was typing away a message on Ebay demanding a REAL replacement or a full refund. I got a reply back telling me to send the program back and they'd refund me in full plus the shipping for me to return it.  My spirit kinda took a nose dive.  I was really looking forward to using this and being able to have a better program to edit my photography. It's such a bummer.

Needless to say, I took pictures of everything (for my own protection really) sending it back priority mail with SIGNATURE confirmation and a letter inside. I had gone back to check for the item number when I noticed the feedback for this member had plummeted. I looked through the feedback and among all the other positives (he sold the same thing to sooooo many others) saying o0o fast shipping, it's perfect, etc. was one big RED negative exclaiming the same thing I'm dealing with.  I only wonder how many other people he sold this to has installed it but aren't smart enought to activate the product. After 30 days of not activating it'll be useless and they won't be able to use it anymore.  This member won't be around Ebay long I bet.  Eh. We live and learn, and I know now not to purchase any more software from online unless directly from the manufacturer.  Least when I get the money back I'll put it towards the camera I've been saving for and will be one step closer.
